Summary

In 1967 Jack and Patricia Muller started a small business by arranging a small loan through their uncle, Don McKinney. Don was also in the tyre industry and still operates as ‘Ridge Tyre & Mechanical” at Acacia Ridge in Brisbane , Queensland . The business grew rapidly and my brothers and I found ourselves looking for other avenues to expand our knowledge. Robert, the eldest, worked as a Fitter and Turner, Keith became involved in the Tyre Retreading industry, John became an Auto Electrician and Mechanic and Peter a Boilermaker. After we finished our time the family united under the “ Muller Tyre Barn” banner. Sadly, after 32 years, Jack sold the business to Goodyear Tyre & Rubber. Jack Muller was discarded. However, he was not broken. He proceeded to start on his own again as “Cash & Carry Tyres”.
